The Department of Computer
Science and Engineering was started in the year 1987. The department offers
4-years B.Tech degree course in Computer Science and Engineering with an annual
intake of 38 students. The course is designed to impart education and training
in Computer Science & Engineering with special emphasis on design aspects of
Computer Sc. & Engg. systems. The ascent on design implies that while the basic
theoretical skills of the students are adequately developed, the program is
oriented in such a way that students acquire an overall design perspective and
attitude to become qualified human resources to cater the needs of sound
national economy.
The Department has qualified and
committed faculty to run the course supported by trained technical and
non-technical staff. Faculty from ISM Dhanbad and BIT Mesra, under an MoU, also
visit regularly to lecture and train the students. The department constantly
strives to activate and pursue research, provide consultancy services to
industries and entrepreneurs and extend community services particularly to
weaker sections of society.
The department has well-equipped
laboratory facilities with high end computers and servers, simulation softwares
like Multisim and Comsim, Bit Scope (Microprocessor Simulation software), Dials
(Fiber Optic Simulation Software), 100 –line EPABX, 150 MHz Analog/DSO, Antenna
System Trainer etc. The department has also its own workshop and library. |
